August 26,
2007---- Big Anouncement from FOG!
One of the original
"five old guys", Bruce Burgoyne has decided in recent
weeks that it's time for him to retire from the music scene and
focus more on his business, Boone's Junction in Wilsonville.
The hauling of equipment to and from the shows is taking its'
toll on the "old-timer" and in his own words, "I
ain't as young as I used to be", so he's gonna put up a
hammock and kick back on the weekends and watch the rest of us
sweating it...anyway... It's been a great 3 years with Bruce
and we'll miss him a lot but there will be one last chance to
heckle, I mean, see him and that will be the weekend of September
14-15 at Hing's in Oregon City. You've got to make plans to come
out and help us send him off on that Saturday night. He'll always
be welcome to come out and sing a set or three in the future
(on those days he's taken his Geritol!) so we'll be seeing him
from time to time. Maybe even play on the deck at his Pub in
the near future...
The rest of us will
carry on as a 4 piece and possibly have periodic guests from
time to time. At the moment we're in the process of dividing
up Bruce's songs! :-) and of course, some of them won't be sung
by any of us so you won't hear us doing those songs. They are
songs that fit his voice perfectly so we'll also be missing those
tunes as well as his percussion playing. We wish the very best
of luck to Bruce in whatever he does in the future and we'll
be seeing all of you at Hing's on September 14 & 15.

July 2, 2007
We had a lot of fun
this past weekend at Pub 181. Nice crowd both nights. We hope
you had as much fun as we did. That is what keeps us going night
after night. As soon as the dancers make their move to the floor
the adrenaline pumps up and Buckster is good for the rest of
the night. He has too much fun, by our estimations, but it rubs
off on the rest of us.... Once again, thanks for coming out and
we want to see you at our next show at Hings on July 15-16.
Rock On!

June 10, 2007
This past weekend
was excellent! Very enthusiastic crowd kept us on our toes every
minute on Saturday. Hing's must be the birthday celebration club
in Oregon City. Quite a few birthday's, in fact, this weekend.
We had a guest singer on a tune, Holly Cole from a band called
"Lowenbad" and her rendition of "Fever" was
absolutely beautiful. I couldn't believe our luck to have someone
that talented come up and join us... and she's Janet's niece!
Along with that we had a great turnout from you and that keeps
our energy level at a high level. We'll be back at Hing's this
coming weekend (June 15-16) so come on out. The week after you
can catch "The Kooltones" at Hing's. Thanks, Marty,
for the use of the lights!

Steve Hart joined
us on April 13-14 at Hing's and it couldn't have been any better.
Excellent musician and great friend to have. We had a nice crowd
both nights and we'd also like to thank Jeff Munkers and his
wife for coming out and Buckster's wife Pie as well as their
friends. One of his friends, Mike, is a fine drummer and he came
up on 3 songs and he came up later as played conga's on 3 Santana
tunes, one being "Black Magic Woman" and it sounded
like the record. I (Mark) was amazed since we have never played
the song. Fortunately, Steve, Tom and Dean had done it in years
past and I happened to know the drum part. All we had to do was
let Bruce and Buckster clang on some percussion odd-sorts and
let Mike do some conga stuff. I'll remember that one for a long
time to come. And, Jeff came up earlier in the night and played
some tunes with us and was as solid as ever. Thanks to all who
came out and joined us and we hope to see you at our next show
in June.
Also, we've made
some schedule changes recently so please go to our schedule page
in case you were planning to join us on one of those evenings
that was changed as well as a couple of added weekends at Hing's
in June and one at Pub 181 (date to be announced) later in the
year.
Thank you for coming to the
site and we'll see you soon!
